About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Audit Manager to take ownership of the full audit process, manage client relationships, and ensure the delivery of high quality audit and advisory services. This role offers the opportunity to oversee multiple engagements, lead teams, and play a key part in driving both operational efficiency and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of audit clients and act as the main point of contact for senior stakeholders.
  • Oversee all stages of the audit cycle from planning and risk assessment through to completion and reporting.
  • Lead and mentor audit teams, providing technical guidance, reviewing work, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with other departments to allocate resources and maintain smooth project delivery.
  • Review and approve audit documentation, internal control letters, and client communications.
  • Resolve complex audit and accounting queries, consulting with specialists when necessary.
  • Support additional client projects, billing, work in progress management, and preparation of tender documents.
  • Contribute to departmental training, recruitment, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with a minimum of 4 years post qualification experience.
  • Proven experience managing audits and leading teams of 10 or more.
  • Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102 and IFRS standards.
  • Background auditing owner managed businesses across sectors such as finance, technology, real estate, and hospitality.
  • Up to date understanding of auditing standards, financial reporting, and company law.
  • Confident using audit and accounting software including CCH, Caseware, Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel to client sites when required.
